  2. City Election Day - Districts 3 and 5

    July 28, 2020, 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM

    The City Council election for Districts 3 and 5 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, July 28, 2020. Information regarding polling places, absentee ballots, candidates, voter registration and more can be found at https://newarkde.gov/508/2020-City-Election-Information.   3. Election Board Meeting

    July 28, 2020, 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM @ Council Chambers/Mayor's Conference Room

    Per the proclamation issued by Governor Carney and Lieutenant Governor Hall-Long on March 13, 2020, the Council Chamber will be closed to the public for the July 28, 2020 Election Board meeting with the exception of one challenger per candidate on the ballot.   4. Absentee Judges Meeting

    July 28, 2020, 5:00 PM @ Council Chamber

    The absentee election judges will tally the absentee ballots received for Districts 3 and 5 in the Council Chamber on July 28, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. Any challenges to any absentee ballots must be made prior to the opening of the ballot envelope for the voter being challenged per 15 Del. C. §7578(2). The ballot envelopes will be opened by the Election Board at their July 27, 2020 meeting at 2:00 p.m. per 15 Del. C. §7579. Per the proclamation issued by Governor Carney and Lieutenant Governor Hall-Long on March 13, 2020, the Council Chamber will be closed to the public for the July 28, 2020 Absentee Election Judges meeting with the exception of one challenger per candidate on the ballot. The meeting will be available for viewing via Livestream at https://livestream.com/accounts/24940020/events/9224072.
