Fall Flea Market

What: The City of Newark Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Fall Flea Market. Members of the greater Newark community are encouraged to clean out their garage, attic or basement and join others for this fun and profitable event. Don't have anything to sell? Don't worry! There will be a large assortment of new and used items for purchase.

Registration to sign-up as a vendor is $27. The Newark resident discount fee is $19.

When: Saturday, October 7, from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Where: George Wilson Center, 303 New London Road, Newark


Fall Community Clean-Up

What: Register now for the City of Newark Fall Community Clean-Up and help keep Newark beautiful. Individuals and volunteer groups are welcome and gloves and trash bags will be provided.

When: Saturday, October 14, from 9 - 11 a.m.

Where: Newark Municipal Building, 220 S. Main Street, Newark

Note: For additional information or to volunteer for the clean-up, please call the Recreation office at (302) 366-7000 or email parksrec@newark.de.us. Please provide the following information for those interested in participating for the clean-up: name, age, phone number, emergency contact information, and desired clean up location (not required).


Volunteer Opportunities

 Newark Parks and Recreation has many volunteer opportunities available. Volunteers assist with special events, programs, summer camps, and are vital in taking care of our parks. More information, opportunities and volunteer applications are available online at newarkde.gov/play. Apply now for fall special event volunteer opportunities, including the Mayor's Harvest Festival, the Fall Community Clean-Up, the Halloween Party at the George Wilson Center, the Halloween Parade, and more! In addition, the following are year-round opportunities for volunteer assistance: youth sports league coaches, office assistance, park & trail maintenance.
