April 12, 2017 – Newark Police Department is investigating a harassment complaint that occurred on 4/12/17 at approximately 2:30am. The victim, an 18 year old University of Delaware student, reported that she was walking on Wyoming Road in the area of S. Chapel Street when she noticed a vehicle, described as a small maroon sports utility vehicle, that appeared to be following her. The victim stated the vehicle parked on the side of Wyoming Road and the driver began to yell vulgarities at her. The victim stated that she then walked to the front of a University of Delaware dormitory and noticed the suspect was now following her on foot. The victim was able to enter the dormitory without further incident. Officers from the University of Delaware Police and Newark Police searched the area for the suspect and suspect vehicle with negative results.
Suspect description: Hispanic male, wearing a baseball hat, gray pants, and a white shirt. No further description is available at this time.
