City of Newark and University of Delaware to Host 13th Annual Taste of Newark
Delaware's premier food and wine festival will feature celebrity chefs
Newark, DE - Taste buds will be happy at the 13th annual Taste of Newark, Delaware's premier food and wine festival that will take place on Sunday, September 25, from noon - 3 p.m. on Old College Lawn at the University of Delaware. Guests will enjoy a wide variety of culinary delights from more than three-dozen of Newark's restaurants, as well as tastings from local vineyards and breweries.
"This event showcases Newark as a premier location to wine and dine," said Mayor Polly Sierer. "Each year, attendees are able to experience an ever-expanding menu of great food and drinks, highlighting the amazing dining opportunities the City has to offer all in one place."
Newark foodies and their friends will be able to enjoy more than the local cuisine - celebrity chefs Ronnie Burkle and Maurice Cattlett of SoDel Concepts will be in attendance and leading a cooking demonstration for those who may want to learn a few tips and tricks to compete with some of the area restaurants.
The annual culinary event will also feature a silent auction hosted by the Newark Arts Alliance. Guests can bid on more than 60 items from local artists and businesses, including a Chef's Dinner for 4 at the Stone Balloon Ale House, and an overnight stay at Dover Downs.
Taste of Newark supports students in the Department of Hospitality Business Management, Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, the Downtown Newark Partnership and the Newark Arts Alliance.
Tickets can be purchased for $50 per person at TasteofNewark2016.eventbrite.com, or for $60 per person at the entrance the day of the event.
