FBI National Academy Graduation
The Newark Police Department is pleased to announce the graduation of Captain Michael VanCampen from the 265th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Following a rigorous 10 week academic program, Captain VanCampen was honored at a ceremony held on September 16th, 2016 presided over by FBI Director James B. Comey. The National Academy is attended by law enforcement leaders from throughout the United States, U.S. territories, and from over 160 nations. Participation in the National Academy is by invitation only through a nomination process.
The mission of the FBI National Academy is “to support, promote, and enhance the personal and professional development of law enforcement leaders by preparing them for complex, dynamic, and contemporary challenges through innovative techniques facilitating excellence in education and research, and forging partnerships throughout the world.
As a graduate, Captain VanCampen will join the less than one percent of law enforcement officers in the United States to attend this esteemed program. Captain VanCampen is the 16th officer from the Newark Police Department to graduate from the National Academy since its inception in 1935. Captain VanCampen will now assume command of the Newark Police Department Auxiliary Services Unit.
