Parking meters and rates have been standardized throughout the City of Newark so that rates and hours of operation are the same for all meter. Parking meter rates are now $1.25 per hour. Municipal parking lot rates remain unchanged.

The parking meters in downtown Newark allow for 2 hour parking (on Main Street) or 3 hour parking and accept quarters only. You receive 12 minutes for every quarter. The hours of operation for all meters are Monday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 a.m., except Sundays and City holidays.
