The US National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for New Castle County, which will stay in effect until Tuesday, February 2 at 10:00 a.m. 10 am Tuesday. Newark Public Works crews ask all residents and businesses to move vehicles from the street, especially if they are parked along the Snow Emergency Route. Vehicles parked along the emergency routes after 9:00 p.m. tonight, January 31, will be towed.
With snow and winds up to 40mph forecasted, power outages are possible. The City urges residents to complete final preparations. Ensure there is an emergency kit in your vehicle and home and check snow blowers, generators, etc. This storm will be complex and long in duration. Remember to stay alert and monitor local weather forecasts and road conditions.
