The City of Newark Municipal Building and Alderman's Court located at 220 South Main Street will reopen to the public at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, February 1. Service windows will close daily from noon until 1:00 p.m. for mid-day cleaning. The building will close at 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The City encourages those with internet access to avoid unnecessary in-person contact by making payments for services online at newarkde.gov/payments. Utility payments may also be made by phone by calling 302.366.7000 using our 24-hour automated system.
Customer Service Representatives from the Payments and Utility Billing, Planning and Development and Parks and Recreation Departments will be available to assist individuals with utility accounts and payments, permits and program registration. Customers entering the building will be required to check-in with the bailiff located in the atrium and will be assisted on a first come, first-served basis. Chairs will be provided and spaced at least six feet apart and protective dividers are placed at every service window to maintain social distance.
Per Governor Carney's State of Emergency order, masks must be worn in the building unless a medical condition exists.
