The City of Newark is proud to participate in multiple charitable collection efforts this holiday season. Nonperishable food items are being collected for the Food Bank of Delaware and the Newark Area Welfare Fund, warm winter clothing items are being collected for the Sunday Breakfast Mission, and the Newark Police Department will once again participate in the Toys for Tots Program.
Collection bins will be placed in the lobby of the Municipal Building located at 220 South Main Street until Thursday, December 19th. The City will also accept donations at the Turkey Trot 10K/5K on Saturday, November 23rd, Thanksgiving Day Breakfast on November 28th and at Winterfest on Friday, December 6th.
All nonperishable food items will be accepted, but the most popular holiday food box items are:

Cereal bars
Pancake mix
Dessert mix
Canned goods
Condiments
New and gently used cold weather items to consider donating are:

Mittens
