The City of Newark and Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen are excited to announce the launch of PARKS ON DRAFT, a four-day, family-friendly beer garden event to take place in Newark’s Olan Thomas Park from August 15th to 18th.
Proceeds from the event, which will feature food, games, beer, live music, and special guests, will benefit Newark Parks and Recreation’s James F. Hall Scholarship Fund, the Special Parks Fund, and the Ronnie Williams Foundation
“This weekend’s event is the first of what we hope to be many new and exciting events in Newark that will highlight our unique businesses and exceptional parks system,” said Tom Coleman, Newark City Manager. “Grab some friends and join us in the park, right off the Pomeroy Trail with Grain, Rainbow Records, and Empowered Yoga.”
PARKS ON DRAFT will take place in Olan Thomas Park, located at the intersection of Paper Mill Road and Cleveland Avenue, on Thursday, August 15, from 4 to 8PM; Friday, August 16 from 4 to 8PM; Saturday, August 17 from 1 to 8PM; and Sunday, August 18 from 1 to 8PM. The event is open to all ages and pet-friendly, but attendees must be over the age of 21 and have ID on-hand to purchase alcohol. Free parking will be available on all days in nearby Curtis Mill Park and Old Paper Mill Road Park; no parking will be available at Olan Thomas Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets for use in the park.

In addition to craft beers on tap and hard seltzer, menu items will include chicken skewers, burgers, sausage sandwiches, and more. Takeout items from the acclaimed Wood Fired Pizza Shop will also be available.
