Family Fun Night
What: Newark's Parks and Recreation Department will host games and activities for the entire family at this FREE event. The Newark Police Department will also join the fun with a bicycle rodeo for children and a car seat safety check. Other activities, including pony rides, face painting and a small train will all be available at the park for a small fee. Food vendors will be on site, but families are encouraged to bring a picnic to celebrate National Picnic Month. Check out Newark Parks & Recreation's Facebook page for event updates.

Fabulous Fridays
What: On the fourth Friday of June, July and August, the Downtown Newark Partnership encourages residents and visitors to celebrate what makes Newark a fabulous place to spend an evening with friends and family. The July event will focus on music, with strolling musicians including Dylan Hepner, Levi Dylan, Orion Freeman, and Nic Snow with Jeffrey Attakorah roaming Main Street and entertaining patrons as they grab a bite to eat or stop in a local boutique for unique finds. In addition, representatives from the Newark Symphony Orchestra will be performing on the academy lawn. Jack Bartley (guitar and voice) will perform from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. and string trio Laura Rogers, Steven Field and Louisa Marks will perform Celtic and American folk music from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
