The Public Works and Water Resources Department will begin its 2018 water main flushing program on Monday, June 4, 2018. Water main flushing is necessary to test the hydrants to ensure adequate flow and pressure is available. Additionally, flushing also removes sediment from the pipes to help ensure optimum water clarity and quality. In an effort to reduce the impact on our customers, the City is planning to flush the water mains overnight between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Water main flushing is scheduled to begin Monday, June 4, and run through Friday, June 15.
Updates and any schedule changes will be posted online at www.newarkde.gov, via the City's Facebook and Twitter accounts and on Newark TV Channel 22.
