A Special City Council meeting will be held on Monday, May 7 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber. Council will be considering a resolution to express support for House Bill 395 to allow all municipalities within the State of Delaware the option to impose and collect a lodging tax. Council may ask questions of presenters, discuss next steps in the process, give direction to staff and/or vote on the resolution and any potential amendments during this special meeting. Public comment will be permitted.

This meeting could not be noticed at least seven days in advance because a decision confirming Council's endorsement of House Bill 395 is essential in soliciting additional legislative and municipal support while working within the remaining sixteen legislative days of the 149th General Assembly and any further delay would substantially diminish the likelihood that HB395 will be considered before the end of the legislative session.
