October 16, 2017 – On10/14/17 at approximately 5:00a.m. the Newark Police Department responded to aresidence in the 800 block of Dallam Road, Newark, DE for a reportedstabbing.  The victim, a 28 year old male who was visiting the residence,reported that he was stabbed in the chest several times by a female who wasidentified as Carolyn Pemberton.  The victim reported that he was stabbedfor an unknown reason while seated on the couch.  During a subsequentsearch of the residence, detectives located a knife with a three inch bladethat was believed to have been used during the stabbing.  The victim wastaken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital and treated for non-life threateninginjuries.  He was subsequently released from the hospital on 10/15/17. Pemberton was treated and released from Christiana Hospital for minorinjuries sustained during the incident.  She was then transported to theNewark Police Department and arrested.

Pemberton was video arraignedin front of Justice of the Peace Court 11, given $50,000 secured bail, andlater committed to the Baylor’s Women’s Correctional Institute.
