UPDATE:
October 6, 2017 – On 10/5/17
the Newark Police Department arrested Clarence Conner Jr for the robbery of the
Citizens Bank on 10/4/17. Conner was arrested without incident at a
residence in the 3000 block of Stone Place, Newark, DE 19702 at
approximately 4:40pm following the execution of a search warrant. Conner
was developed as a suspect through witness interviews, public and private surveillance
camera footage, and physical evidence recovered during a search of two vehicles
associated with him as well as a search of Conner’s person.
Conner was video arraigned in
front of Justice of the Peace Court 2 and given $108,000 cash bail. He
was later committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution.

October 5, 2017 – The Newark Police Department is
investigating a robbery that occurred on 10/4/2017 at approximately 3:45pm at
the Citizens Bank located inside of ACME, 100 Suburban Drive, Newark. One
of the bank tellers, a 25 year old female, reported that the suspect approached
the counter, presented a note demanding money, and implied he was armed with a
gun. The suspect then confronted a second teller, a 26 year old male, and
demanded money. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of money and
then fled ACME.
The suspect was described as a black male with a
beard, mid-40’s, approximately 5’7’’ – 5’8’’, 175 - 200 pounds, wearing a hat
with a towel underneath it, sunglasses, a black t-shirt, and jeans.
There is no surveillance footage available for release
at this time.
