  1. Halloween Parade

    Main Street, between Tyre Avenue and South College

    Join us for our Annual Halloween Parade! The parade begins at George Read Park and Delaware Circle, to Tyre Avenue, and then west down Main Street to South College. Sign up to participate at www.newarkde.gov/play. Categories include Marching Bands or Musical Groups, Floats, Vehicles, Small/Family and Large marching groups, and individuals. Pre-registration is required for all categories, except individuals. There will be a special lineup spot for individuals the day of the parade. Everyone participating in the parade must be in costume. Candy may NOT be thrown from the parade route. If you wish to distribute candy, you can sign up for Trick or Treat Main Street. Register by Friday, October 8th at 5pm at www.newarkde.gov/play. For more information, call the Parks & Recreation Office at 302-366-7000. There is no rain date for this event.   2. Trick or Treat Main Street

    Main Street Newark - Between Tyre Avenue and South College

    This event occurs after the Newark Halloween Parade along Main Street. There will be goodies from many stores and downtown businesses and much more. Bring your camera and take pictures in the pumpkin patch. All municipal lots will offer free parking. For the safety of participants, Main Street will remain closed. There is no rain date for this event. Please leave your pets at home. Pets can participate in costume at NewBark PawLooza November 6th.
