About Traffic Offense Probation
You will receive a fine and be placed on a period of probation typically for six months from the date you are admitted to Probation Before Judgment.
The court will hold the charge open for the probationary period.
If you pay your fine within the time period that is ordered and you are not convicted of any new traffic violations within the probationary period, the charge you are currently facing will be dismissed.
If you successfully complete the probationary period, you will not be assessed any points on your driver’s license for this offense.
Probation Violations
If you violate the conditions of the Probation Before Judgment, the court will enter a conviction and the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles will receive notice of your conviction.
It is up to the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles whether your driver’s license is penalized because of the conviction.
