Recycling Center Locations

The Delaware Solid Waste Authority recently removed their recycling igloos from B street near the City’s Maintenance Yard, but the Newark Recycling Center located at 470 Corporate Boulevard is scheduled to open by the end of next week. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Single Stream Recycling:

Listed below are accepted materials for the DSWA single stream recycling program.

  • Newspapers/ Brown Paper Bags
  • Magazines/Catalogs
  • Telephone/Soft Cover Books
  • Junk Mail/Envelopes (all types)
  • Paper
  • Paperboard (cereal/tissue boxes)
  • Cardboard
  • Narrow-Neck Plastic Bottles
  • Milk Jugs, Bleach/Detergent, Shampoo Bottles
  • Glass Bottles/Jars (any color)
  • Metal Cans (tin/steel/aluminum)

We also collect:

  • Used Motor Oil
  • Used Oil Filters
  • Batteries
  • Styrofoam

Special Collections (Beginning July 15, 2020)

  • Household Hazardous Waste
  • Every Wednesday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Document Shredding (Beginning August 5, 2020)

  • 1st Wednesday of Each Month, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

DSWA’s Recycling Program is single-stream, which means that residents no longer have to sort their recyclables prior to coming to the drop-off centers.
