Seasonal Collections and Services

Current Changes to City of Newark Operations

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, several modifications to staffing and non-essential services have been temporarily implemented. These modifications have been made to reduce the risk of City employees contracting the virus and ensure that essential services can continue uninterrupted. Yard waste collections have been reduced to one collection every other week in order to reduce stress to the refuse fleet, allow time for vehicle sanitization, and increase time for preventative maintenance. Concerns with supply availability for wear items such as tires, breaks, filters, oil, and coolant have also contributed to this decision. We will continue to monitor the situation and modify services as necessary to meet the needs of our community. We appreciate your understanding in this difficult time.
