Luke Chapman is serving his third term on Newark City Council representing District 5.
Born in Vermont, Luke moved to Newark when he was a child and kept finding himself coming back “home” to Newark. Luke chose the University of Delaware (UD) for his college education, worked for numerous businesses within the City of Newark and bought his first home three years ago in Fairfield Crest with his wife, Meredith, and their dog, Indy.
Luke is a certified financial planner professional (CFP), currently practicing at a local independent financial planning firm, where he advises individuals, families, and small business in the Newark area. Luke previously worked for four years with the JPMorgan Private Bank at their Christiana campus and at various businesses in Newark throughout his high school and college years.
In addition to being a CFP practitioner, Luke holds numerous financial industry licenses in Delaware and several surrounding states.
Luke holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and history from the University of Delaware. In 2010, he returned to UD to complete the year-long certificate in financial planning program.
